The Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Day (VHSND), originally known as VHND, is one of India's most significant community-based health interventions, designed to bring comprehensive primary healthcare services directly to rural populations through a multi-sectoral convergence approach. Himachal Pradesh is a hilly state, where geographical barriers and scattered populations are a big challenge to healthcare delivery; VHSND has played a vital role in improving mother and child health outcomes by tackling nutritional deficiencies and encouraging community-level health awareness.
