The MSMEs are crucial for boosting economic growth, generating jobs, and promoting regional development. However, the sector faces substantial challenges due to workforce skill gaps, which hinder productivity, innovation, and overall competitiveness. This study explores the current education and skill development framework for MSMEs, highlighting government and private sector initiatives aimed at enhancing workforce capabilities. Through a detailed review of existing literature, the research identifies critical skill shortages and examines challenges in implementing effective training programs. Key barriers, such as financial limitations, restricted access to advanced technologies, and complex regulatory frameworks, impede progress in bridging these gaps. To overcome these challenges, the study emphasizes the need for flexible, technology-oriented training models and the promotion of robust public-private collaborations. These approaches can help address skill deficiencies, enhance workforce productivity, and ensure sustainable growth within the sector. The findings offer practical guidance for policymakers, educators, and industry leaders, aiding in the creation of a strong and competitive MSME ecosystem.
