Abstract

This article looks at the many ways that women and tourism are connected, including the benefits and problems that women confront in the global tourism sector. It discusses women's roles as important parts of tourism economies, whether as workers, business owners, or travellers. It also talks about problems like gender inequity, safety concerns, and representation. The paper looks at how tourism might help women gain power and the economy grow, especially in emerging nations, by using case studies and recent data. At the same time, it looks at the institutional and cultural hurdles that still keep women from fully participating in and benefiting from the business. The paper ends with suggestions for policies and initiatives that would make the tourism surroundings around the world more welcoming and fairer for women.
