This study explores the concept of learner-based modern services in government university libraries; it highlights various modern services such as digital repositories, e-learning platforms, online reference services, library automation, remote access facilities, and mobile applications.
The study discusses how learner-based services prioritize the diverse information needs of users, The integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in library services has revolutionized access to information, enabling users to access digital resources anytime and anywhere. The research also addresses the importance of digital literacy programs, user orientation, and feedback mechanisms in enhancing the quality of library services.
Furthermore, the study examines the by government university libraries in implementing learner-based services, including funding, lack of infrastructure, and limited staff training. It provides recommendations for overcoming these challenges by adopting innovative technologies, improving staff capacity building, and strengthening collaboration with other libraries and information networks.
This study concludes that the transformation of government university libraries into learner-centred knowledge hubs is essential for meeting the evolving needs of learners in the digital age.
