In an era characterised by rapid technological change, social complexity, and global uncertainty, education systems are increasingly expected to move beyond content transmission and focus on the holistic development of learners. Advanced life skills—such as critical thinking, emotional intelligence, collaboration, adaptability, ethical reasoning, and problem-solving—are now widely recognised as essential for students’ personal well-being, civic engagement, and employability. This article examines the concept of advanced life skills, situates them within contemporary educational frameworks, and explores pedagogical strategies that enable their effective cultivation in school settings. Drawing on international policy documents, empirical research, and classroom-based practices, the paper highlights experiential learning, competency-based assessment, social-emotional learning, and community engagement as key pathways for bridging classroom learning with real-life application. The article concludes by emphasising the role of teachers, school leadership, and curriculum design in ensuring that life skills education becomes an integral and sustainable component of formal schooling.
